Project Goals

BudFutbol is an app launched as campaign support to promote the brand as the new official sponsor of the Premier League and La Liga.

The objective was to design the structure and aesthetics of an app that connects the user with the campaign theme and the product and complies with the specifications and guidelines provided by the client.

A Hackathon was held as a first step to integrate the group, learn about the different technological proposals, functionalities and define roles and establish the parameters and guidelines for the project.

I also had the opportunity to meet and work with other designers and professionals.

Research

To define who we were targeting, the team carried out various in-person and virtual activities that helped define our unique user (Male 25 - 30 years old).
The first stage of the research aimed to understand users' feelings more deeply regarding the app's concept. This allowed for an idea of the functionalities and options.

Interviews and User Insights

8 interviews were carried out with users (Male 25 - 30 years old) with two objectives: 1. Get to know our consumer better. and 2. Get a clearer idea about the dynamics of the app and its characteristics.

  • Prizes are presented as the greatest attraction.

  • Activities and challenges should be fast, fun, and easy.

  • There is a great spirit of competition among users.

  • Relevant information related to the sport is a must.

  • They do not want to make a complete registration.

Communication With The User

Several surveys and virtual questionnaires were carried out aimed at the consumer public through social networks and official channels to get an idea of the acceptance, motivations, and expectations of the app.

Thanks to the results of the research, it was possible to break down the information and separate the most important aspects. These served to conceptualize and point out the main characteristics that we would offer to the user.

Competition and Weekly Challenges

Users compete to obtain points.

User profile

Registration under DNI verification (18+)

App Exclusivity

Unique promotions and discounts with allied brands.

Awards and incentives

Football awards and brand merchandising.

Football Information

Informational use only of matches and others.

Features

To obtain the features and funcionalities, I decided to use the needs and requirements of our interviewees as a reference. Since users were looking for simple and quick-to-use navigation, I tried to distribute the content directly and not add extra sections.

Design

I applied red as a base color and white for details. My approach in the design was to obtain balance for the application of color, since by requirement red must serve as an axis of communication and recognition.

By using transparencies and borders to some elements I managed to create a slightly more dynamic and varied visual.

Used the backgrounds as the main means of decoration by applying themed colors in color and thus achieve a more established aesthetic and a more “football” tone.

The lack of legal and legal precautions (mandatory) served as a resource to gain more space due to the little visual content.

Components were mainly composed of simple shapes, such as rectangles, squares, and circles. This made it easier to organize elements and components when designing.

Finally, the design of iconography helped a lot to facilitate reading and generate a more playful and modern image.
